If the browser you use for Showbie doesn’t allow Showbie to use your camera, you won’t be able to access Showbie's video chat feature, logging in with QR codes, or any other camera based feature. To fix this, you’ll need to give the Showbie web app access to your device’s camera.

To give Showbie access to your device's camera in Chrome:

  • Copy and paste chrome://settings/content/camera into the address bar

  • Find Showbie in the list and click the arrow to adjust permissions

  • Once there, find 'Camera' and select 'Allow'

To give Showbie access to your device's camera in Firefox:

  • In the Menu bar at the top of the screen, click Firefox and select Preferences.

  • Click Privacy & Security from the left menu.

  • Scroll down to the Permissions section

  • Click the 'Settings' button for the Camera option.

  • Find Showbie in the list, and change the permission to 'Allow'

Now you're ready to use your camera on Showbie's web app!
