If the browser you use for Showbie doesn’t allow Showbie to use your camera, you won’t be able to access Showbie's video chat feature, logging in with QR codes, or any other camera based feature. To fix this, you’ll need to give the Showbie web app access to your device’s camera.
To give Showbie access to your device's camera/microphone in Chrome:
Open Showbie in Chrome.
Click the Site settings (or padlock/tune) icon to the left of the address bar.
Select Site settings.
Under Permissions, set Camera and Microphone to Allow.
Refresh the Showbie page.
If you don't see the option to allow camera or microphone access, open Chrome's Settings, go to Privacy and security > Site settings, and update the Camera and Microphone permissions for Showbie. Then refresh the page.
To give Showbie access to your device's camera/microphone in Firefox:
Open Showbie in Firefox.
Click the Permissions icon (or the padlock icon) to the left of the address bar.
Select Connection secure (if shown), then choose More information or Permissions.
Allow access to the Camera and Microphone for Showbie.
Refresh the Showbie page.
If you're still having trouble, you may have previously blocked Firefox's access.
To fix this,
Click the Firefox menu (☰) and select Settings.
Select Privacy & Security.
Scroll to the Permissions section.
Next to Camera (or Microphone), click Settings
Find Showbie in the list and change the permission to Allow.
Refresh the Showbie page.
Now you're ready to use your camera and/or microphone on Showbie's web app!
