Need a break during your assessment? You can pause and/or resume at any time.
Why Pause an Assessment?
Time Management: Stay on track despite interruptions.
Student Engagement: Refocus distracted students.
Assessment: Review progress and give feedback.
Tech Issues: Handle tech hiccups without losing student work.
Class Reflection: Use as a teaching moment for discussion.
How to Pause an Assessment
After launching an assessment you can pause it at any time using these steps:
Navigate to the class the assessment is launched from
Tap into the linked assignment
From the Shared Items list, open the launched assessment. (You will see it reads "In Progress" under your assessment name.)
Tap the Pause button at the top of the Live Results screen. This button will now read as Resume.
To Resume your assessment, follow the same steps or, if you are staying on your Live Results screen through the pause duration, simply tap the Resume button.
Students cannot submit answers while an assessment is paused. Instead, they will see an 'Activity Paused' message on the screen until the assessment is resumed.
✍️ If pausing for a long period of time, we suggest turning 'One Attempt' on to save student progress when they log out and log back in. If One Attempt is off, ask students to stay logged in, otherwise, they will be prompted to start over!
