Showbie captures a minimal amount of personal data from students -- all of which is necessary in order to deliver our service. Personal data collected includes:

  • First name

  • Last name

  • Username

  • Password

  • Profile photo (optional)

Note that email addresses are not required for students to create Showbie accounts though may be optionally provided to receive email notifications or to enable SSO login methods. Students may also upload content to Showbie that contains personal data, such as audio or video recordings. Additional information about student users may also be inferred from associated teacher or school data, such as grade level, religious affiliation, or extracurricular involvement.

Students’ information isn’t visible to Showbie; any personal information entered into the Showbie iOS or web app is encrypted across Showbie’s service, including at rest.

If you have any questions about your school's use of Showbie, please contact privacy@showbie.com.
