Viewing Data & Analytics within Showbie

As an administrator for your school’s Showbie account, you have access to the Admin Dashboard and the Analytics within it. To view a comprehensive list of what data administrators have access to on-demand in the Admin Dashboard, see our guide here.

There may be times that you would like access to additional information about who among your teachers and students are using Showbie and how they’re interacting with the app. While we understand your interest in this type of information, there are restrictions we need to follow when it comes to handling the personally identifiable information (PII) of our users.

What is PII?

PII is any information that can be used to identify a specific individual, such as their name, email address, phone number, or even their location (ie: the school they work at or attend). This information is sensitive and needs to be specially handled to prevent identity theft, harassment, and other forms of misuse.

How does Showbie Protect our users Privacy?

In order to protect the privacy of our users and prevent misuse of their personal information, we have a strict privacy policy in place that governs how we can collect, store, and share user data. This policy is designed to ensure that user data is only used for legitimate purposes and is protected from unauthorized access.

One of the ways that we protect user privacy is by limiting access to PII. This means that users are not allowed to view details about other users or their PII unless they have been granted explicit permission to do so. An example of this is Showbie’s Admin Dashboard. Approved users who have been granted administrator access are able to view PII within the Admin Dashboard solely for teachers and students who have been confirmed to belong to their school. If an administrator asked to see a list of other teacher users who may potentially belong to their school, for example, we would not be able to provide that information as there would be no confirmed connection between those users and the school. Here is a comprehensive list of exactly what data administrators have access to on-demand in the Admin Dashboard.

We understand that these limitations can sometimes be frustrating or pose challenges to managing Showbie at your school, but they are in place to protect the privacy of our users and ensure that personal information is kept secure. If you have concerns about data privacy or our handling of personal data, please review our Privacy Policy or contact privacy@showbie.com.
