Showbie supports a number of special app configuration options that can be deployed to student iPads using a mobile device manager such as Airwatch, JAMF, or Mosyle Manager.
A standardized configuration is conducive to effective and responsible device use in the pursuit of learning. Showbie’s advanced MDM configuration options give you more fine-grained control over how your students access and use Showbie on their provisioned devices, helping you guide students towards productive learning. MDM configuration flags currently available in Showbie include:
Prevent new teacher accounts from being created using the Showbie iOS app.
Prevent new parent accounts from being created using the Showbie iOS app.
Prevent new student accounts from being created using the Showbie iOS app.
Prevent users from signing in to the Showbie iOS app using a teacher account.
Prevent users from signing in to the Showbie iOS app using a parent account.
Disable username/email sign in
Disable students from editing their profile once signed in
Prevent users from signing up or signing in using Google SSO.
Prevent users from signing up or signing in using Microsoft SSO.
Prevent users from signing up or signing in using Feide SSO.
Force all links to open externally in the Safari app instead of Showbie's built-in browser view.
Disable Make a Copy, Share, or Record Screen from the + menu in the app.
Note: Showbie’s built-in browser view complies with the same device-level content and privacy restrictions as Safari. However, it does not offer an auditable browser history. By forcing links to be opened externally, admins are able to enforce an auditable browsing history for all links opened in Showbie on a student’s device.
