Sharing Files into Showbie-General Steps
While the exact steps may vary slightly depending on the app you’re using, most apps follow a similar process for sharing files into Showbie.
Open the file in the app where it is stored or created.
Tap the Share icon (usually a square with an arrow pointing up).
Look for options such as Share, Export, Send a Copy, or Open In.
Select Showbie from the list of available apps.
Choose the class, assignment, or folder where you want the file to be added.
Note: Some apps may use different wording for sharing files. For example, in the Creative Book Builder app, you may need to tap Publish instead of Share.
How to Share Files from Apple Apps
1. Pages
Long press on the file(s) you'd like to share to Showbie.
or
If the file is open tap the (...).
Tap on Share.
Select Showbie.
Select the assignment's destination.
2. Numbers
Tap Select and choose the file(s) you'd like to share to Showbie.
Tap Share in the bottom toolbar.
Tap Showbie to share the file as a .numbers file, or tap Export at the bottom of the menu to share it in another file format.
Tap Showbie or Copy to Showbie. (Copy to Showbie is recommended for larger files.)
3. Photos
Tap Select at the top of your Photos.
Select the photos you'd like to share to Showbie.
Tap Export in the toolbar.
In the new screen that appears, tap Showbie and choose where you would like the photos to be uploaded.
4. Garage Band
Long‑press on the song you want to share.
Tap Share at the bottom.
Tap Song.
Choose your preferred sound quality.
Tap Share.
Find and tap Showbie from the list of apps.
Choose where you'd like to upload the song to in Showbie.
5. iMovie & Clips
From your Projects, tap on the movie you'd like to share.
Tap on the Share arrow at the bottom of the screen.
Tap on Showbie.
Once the movie is done exporting, you can choose to share to your classes or in groups.
How to Share Files from Google Apps
You can share or upload files from Google Drive, Google Slides, and Google Sheets directly into Showbie. All 3 apps follow the same basic steps to do so:
Locate your file
Open the file in Google Drive, Slides, or Sheets.
Tap the ‘…’ (More Options) button.
Share or Export the file
Tap Send a Copy, Open in, or Share & Export.
If prompted, select the file format (e.g., PDF or PowerPoint).
Select Showbie
From the list of apps, choose Showbie.
Pick a destination
Select the class, assignment, or folder where you want to upload the file.
Adding Google Slides from the Web:
From your Assignment, Community or Materials tap +
Tap Add from Drive.
Select your file.
Tap Select. Note: This will upload a PDF of the file.
Adding from Google Drive App:
From the Assignment, Community or Materials, tap +
Tap File.
Select the location (slide right to browse locations).
Tap Google Drive.
Tap the document you want to upload.
Google Docs
You can send a Google Doc file into Showbie by:
Opening the document & tapping the three dots (…) for more options.
Choose Send a Copy, selecting either PDF or .docx as the export format.
Select Showbie and the class or folder where you want to upload it.
You can also add a Google Doc from within Showbie by:
Tap the + button & choose Add from Drive.
Select the document-this will upload it as a PDF. (Any workflow that picks the file and sends it to Showbie works, as long as you choose the format and destination folder).
A PDF is fully annotatable in Showbie. While a .docx file can’t be annotated directly in Showbie it can be opened for editing in a word processor.
How to Share Files from Microsoft Office Apps & One Drive
You can share files from apps like OneDrive, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint directly into Showbie. All 3 apps follow the same basic steps to do so:
Tap the '…'(More Options) next to the file you’d like to share.
Tap Share.
If prompted, choose Send a Copy.
Select Send with Another App.
Choose Showbie or Copy to Showbie (recommended for larger files).
Select the class, assignment, or folder where you'd like to upload the file.
Annotate Microsoft Word documents directly in Showbie
Upload your .doc or .docx file to Showbie to annotate it directly. You can also download a PDF version with your annotations, while the original Word file remains available to download.
How to Share Files from eBooks & Notes Apps
1. Book Creator
Open Book Creator and go to My Books.
Tap the Share icon under the book.
Choose Export as ePub (or PDF if needed).
Tap the Showbie app from the share menu
Select where you would like to import the file to.
Tap Add File.
2. Creative Book Builder
To save a book from Creative Book Builder into Showbie, first select your book and tap Publish.
Generate your book either as a PDF or ePub, and then tap Open Book In…
Select Showbie and choose an assignment or student folder.
3. Evernote
To save a note from Evernote to Showbie, first select your note.
Tap on the Share icon.
Select Showbie from the options and choose an assignment or student folder to upload the note into.
How to Share Files from PDF's & Annotation Apps
1. Adobe Reader
Open your document and tap the Share icon.
Select Showbie from the list of apps.
Choose the assignment or student folder you would like it to appear.
2. Notability
Tap the Share button.
Select the file you'd like to share to Showbie.
Tap the Share button again.
Select Other Apps.
Choose your settings for the file and then tap Share Now when you're ready.
Tap on either Showbie or Copy to Showbie - the latter is better for larger files.

How to Share Files from Presentation Apps
1. Educreations
Tap Select.
Tap the lessons you'd like to share.
Tap the Share button.
Select Showbie from the list of apps.
Choose where you'd like to upload the file in Showbie.
2. Thinglink
Open the ThingLink you want to share and tap the Share button.
Choose Showbie from the list of apps then select where you’d like to upload it in Showbie.
3. Explain Everything
Tap Select, then choose the project you want to share.
Tap the Share icon, then tap Export.
Choose the file format you want to export (e.g., PDF, video).
Use the iOS share sheet to choose Showbie or Copy to Showbie (“Copy to Showbie” is preferable for larger files).
4. Keynote
You can share your Keynote presentations to Showbie as a PDF, image, GIF, or video directly from your device.
On iOS, open the file in Keynote and tap the three dots (…)
Choose Share.
Select Showbie and pick the class, assignment, or discussion where you want the file uploaded. Sharing as a PDF is best if you want to annotate the slides in Showbie. (If you want to work with the file again in Keynote after uploading, you can also export from Showbie back into Keynote to preserve video or audio content. You can create GIFs or movies in Keynote by using the Export option, then share those to Showbie in the same way. On macOS, you can export your Keynote file to your desktop as the format you need and then upload it to Showbie).
