Sharing Files from Showbie to Other Apps

You can share your Showbie created files to other apps on your iOS device, to store or share with students. Listed are the general steps for sharing files from Showbie into common apps.

Reuse and share content outside of Showbie: Incorporate your materials into presentations for meetings, professional development, or collaboration with others who may not use Showbie.

Sharing Files from Showbie-iOS General Steps

Showbie files can be exported to any compatible app available in your device’s Share menu, such as Pages, Keynote, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Google Drive, and many other productivity or annotation apps.

While the exact steps may vary slightly depending on the app you’re using, most apps follow a similar process to share files from Showbie:

  1. Long press on the assignment or file.

  2. Find the Share option.

  3. Select the desired app from the list of apps on your iOS device.

  4. Choose the destination where you'd like it to go within the external app.

💡 Make sure Sharing Access is enabled for the app you are sharing to.

Sharing Files to Apple Apps

Pages

  1. In the Showbie app, find the document you want to export.

  2. Swipe left on the file, or open the file and tap the export/share icon.

  3. Tap Copy + (or “Share”).

  4. Tap Share Pages Doc.

  5. Tap Copy to Pages.

  6. The file will open in Pages for editing.

Numbers

  1. In the Showbie app, locate the Numbers spreadsheet you want to export.

  2. Swipe left on the file or open and tap the export/share icon.

  3. Tap Share/Send.

  4. In the list of apps, scroll to and tap Numbers (if it’s installed on your iPad/iPhone).

  5. The file will open in Numbers.

Apple Keynote

  1. In Showbie on iOS, find the Keynote presentation you want to export.

  2. Swipe left on the file or open it and tap export/share.

  3. Tap Share Keynote (or use Share/Send).

  4. Tap Copy to Keynote.

  5. The file will open in Keynote for editing.

Sharing to Microsoft Apps

How to export a file from Showbie into the following Microsoft apps:

  • Microsoft Word

  • Microsoft PowerPoint

  • Microsoft OneDrive

  1. Tap the … (More options) button for the file.

  2. Tap Share.

  3. Select Send a Copy.

  4. Tap Send with Another App.

  5. Choose Microsoft Word from the app list.

Sharing to Google Apps

How to export a file from Showbie into the following Google apps:

  • Google Docs

  • Google Slides

  • Google Drive

  1. Tap the … (More options) button for the file in Showbie.

  2. Tap Share.

  3. Select Send a Copy.

  4. Tap Send with Another App.

  5. Choose Google Docs, Google Slides, or Google Drive from the app list.

Sharing to Annotation and Classroom Apps

Notability

  1. Tap Share on the file in Showbie.

  2. Select Other Apps.

  3. Tap Notability (or Copy to Notability).

  4. Choose Create New Note or Add to Existing Note in Notability.

  5. Tap Import.

Explain Everything

  1. Tap Share in Showbie.

  2. Select the file.

  3. Tap Share again.

  4. Tap Other Apps.

  5. Tap Explain Everything or Copy to Explain Everything.

  6. The file opens in Explain Everything.

  7. Insert it into your project canvas and begin annotating.

ThingLink

  1. Tap Share in Showbie.

  2. Select the file.

  3. Tap Share again.

  4. Tap Other Apps.

  5. Tap ThingLink or Copy to ThingLink.

  6. Open ThingLink and create new content.

  7. Upload the file and continue editing your interactive media.
