Here’s how to keep your class content organized, intuitive, and easy to navigate using Showbie’s class folders feature.

With Class Folders, you can:

✅keep relevant activities together in one place

✅navigate through materials easier

✅choose colours to help differentiate folders at a glance

✅designate folders within folders for further organization!

Create a Folder

  1. Choose the class you want to create folders for

Once created, you'll be taken directly into the folder where you can start creating your activities!

Folders within Folders

To further organize your classes and activities, you can create folders within folders (sub-folders).

To create a folder within a folder:

  1. In an existing folder, tap on "..."

  2. Tap New Folder

  3. Type in your folder name and choose your folder colour

  4. Tap Save

Note: There is a limit of 3 folder levels within a class. Once you have the maximum number of sub folders, the New Folder button will disappear from the "..." menu.

Organizing Folders

In Showbie, you can sort or reorder your folders however you'd like! This is done similarly to reordering posts in the Shared Items list.

How to Sort and Re-order

  1. While in a class, tap 'edit'

  2. Hold and drag the "..." icon next to the folder

  3. Reorder folders however you'd like

You now have even more options when it comes to organizing folders in your classes. As you can have up to three layers of folders within folders, you may want to move or adjust your existing folders.

Moving Folders

  1. Navigate to any class where you have class folders

  2. Find the folder you want to move

  3. Click the '...' icon (web)

On IOS - simply long press the folder:

  1. Tap Move Folder

  2. Choose the class and folder level that you want to move it to.

  3. Tap the green Move Folder button

Copying Class Folders

Once you have your class folders set up, you can create copies of the folder and the assignments within them to use in other classes.

How to Copy Class Folders

  1. Go to any class where you have class folders

  2. Open any class folder

  3. Tap the wrench icon

  4. Choose Folder Settings

  5. Choose the Copy Folder option

  6. Select the class you'd like to copy to

  7. Tap Copy Folder

Pro Tip: On iPad, you can also long-press the folder itself and choose Copy Folder from the contextual menu that pops up.

Troubleshooting Tips:

  1. There is a three-level limit on folders. If that limit is exceeded by a folder move, the green Move Folder button will be greyed out and you will be unable to perform the action.

  2. Archived Folders still count towards the 3 level limit

  3. You can manage your archived folders either by deleting them or moving them to a new place, and then proceed with the movement of the original folder

  4. If moving a folder and it already has folders within it, you may only be able to move it to the class level and not place it within a folder
