This guide explains the different ways teachers and students can upload content to Showbie. Depending on your device, you can upload files, photos, voice notes, comments, and more to assignments, class discussions, and communities.
Add Text or Voice Notes

Leave written feedback, ask questions, or provide additional context alongside a post or file, keeping communication clear and connected to specific parts of the file.
Record a voice note
Record verbal feedback or instructions. Voice notes are ideal when speaking is quicker or more personal than typing. They also allow for quick, clear communication that students can listen to anytime.
Upload existing files
Upload from cloud storage
Attach files stored in Google Drive or another supported cloud storage provider without downloading them first to easily share documents, presentations, or other resources with your class. It provides a convenient way to access and attach files stored in the cloud without leaving the app.
The following methods are available specifically on the iPad and the Web versions:
On iPad
You can also:
Take a photo using your iPad's camera.
Choose from your Photo Library.
Share files from another app, such as Notes, Pages, Files, or supported cloud storage apps.
✍️ Can't access your photos?
If your photo library appears empty or unavailable in Showbie, check that Showbie has permission to access your photos:
Open Settings on your iPad.
Tap Apps > Showbie (or scroll down and tap Showbie on older versions of iPadOS).
Tap Photos.
Choose Full Access or allow access to your photo library.
If you don't see the Photos option, return to Showbie and try opening your photo library again. iPadOS will prompt you to grant permission.
On the web
You can upload files directly from your computer, including:
PDFs
Documents
Images
Presentations
Other supported file types
These options give you flexibility to add files in the way that works best for you!
