Teachers can be added to your school by sending them an invitation from the Admin Dashboard. The invited teachers will receive emails from Showbie asking them to join your school, and the invitation links are valid/clickable for 30 days.
Invites can be sent individually or in batches, and they can be resent if needed. Invitations expire after 30 days and will need to be resent if the teacher does not click the invitation link within that time.
Teachers new to Showbie will be asked to create a new account, which should be completed by following the link in the invitation email. They will need to use the same email address that was invited to join the school.
Teachers with existing Showbie accounts will need to be transferred to your school, and they will receive an email asking to complete the transfer process.
Inviting New Teachers
In the Admin Dashboard, teachers can be invited by using the Invite Teachers button on the home page or the Add button on the Teachers tab.
Navigate to the home page of the Admin Dashboard and click Invite Teachers. Or, from the Teachers tab of the Admin Dashboard, click Add.
Enter one or more email addresses of the teachers to invite, separating multiple emails with commas.
Click Send Invites.
A confirmation message will appear letting you know the invitations were sent!
Inviting Teachers with Existing Accounts
Transferring Teachers Within Your District to Your School
If a teacher has already been using Showbie at another school within your district, kommune, or trust, then they will receive an email inviting them to Transfer to your Showbie Team. The email will include instructions on how to prepare for the transfer, and they will need to click the link in that email (when ready) to complete the transfer process.
Step 1: Preparing the Transfer
Before accepting the transfer request, the teacher should:
Add co-teachers to any active classes that should continue with their previous school.
Make copies or download any necessary materials from their previous school.
Important Note: In order to maintain student privacy, transferring teachers lose access to classes that contain students from their previous school.
Step 2: Completing the Transfer
When ready to transfer their account, the teacher can click the Transfer button in their email. This will complete the account transfer:
Their account is automatically moved to the new school.
They are blocked in any previous classes that contain students.
Classes from their previous school without students are archived and can still be viewed under Archived Classes.
The previous school's Showbie admins are notified of the account transfer.
Teachers from Outside of Your District
If a teacher has already been using Showbie at another school outside of your district, kommune, or trust, then their account cannot be transferred. The inviting admin will receive a "cannot transfer" email if the teacher is not eligible for transfer.
They will need to create a new Showbie account and will be unable to use the account associated with their previous school with your school. If the teacher has an assigned email address for use with your school, then inviting that current email address will allow them to create a new Showbie account and join your school.
