Personal Libraries

Personal Libraries give every teacher a private space to create, organize, and reuse assignments before sharing them with students.

Written by Allison Gottlieb

Personal Libraries provide teachers with a private workspace to create, organize, and store assignments before sharing them with students. Unlike classes, everything in your Personal Library is visible only to you! Use it to build lessons, organize teaching resources, and prepare content at your own pace before copying it into your classes.

Why use a Personal Library?

With Personal Libraries, you can:

  • Build lesson and unit plans before sharing them with students.

  • Reuse assignments year after year, saving valuable preparation time.

  • Keep active classes organized by preparing content behind the scenes.

  • Create your own collection of trusted resources that are always easy to find.

Accessing your Personal Library

You can access your Personal Library from:

  • Web: Select the Libraries icon from the top navigation bar.

  • iPad: Select Libraries from the left-hand navigation menu.

Each teacher has access to one Personal Library.

Adding Resources

Within your Personal Library, you can add new assignments and folders in the same way as you would in classes!

To add existing Showbie resources to your Personal Library, simply navigate to your assignment or folder and tap the Settings menu, then "Add to Library."

"Add to Library" from Assignment Settings

"Add to Library" from Folder Settings

Use folders to organize assignments by subject, unit, semester, or however you'd like to structure your teaching materials.

✍️You can also tap and hold individual posts and use "Add to Library" to add a post to an assignment in your library.
