Adding grades is a great way to communicate with your students about their learning.

✍️ Try replacing traditional grading systems with emojis for a fun twist!

Adding a Grade

You can add grades from within a document or the assignment folder.

The format of the grade is dependent on the Grading Format option selected in the assignment settings when creating the assignment.

  • For example, if the "points" format is selected, you will only need to enter the number of points awarded to this student. If "custom entry" is selected, you can use any character for your grades, including numbers, letters, and emojis.

  • Learn more about grading formats here: Grading Formats in Showbie.

Grading from the Assignment Folder

After navigating to an assignment within your Showbie class, select the student to receive the grade, then tap the Grade box or dropdown and type in or select their grade for this assignment.

Grading from within a Document

While viewing a file or document within an assignment, tap on the checkmark icon. Then, in the menu that appears, enter the student's grade into the grade box.

The feedback you provide can also be improved automatically with our Feedback Assistant. For more information on how to use the Feedback Assistant, see this guide:

You will see a calendar icon with a '!' beside the grade if it is submitted late, as shown below:
